They are committed to making all the files in the SXC collection safe and reliable and the technology team behind iStockphoto, the world’s number one microstock site, will keep SXC fast, stable and secure. In fact, they’ve upgraded much of the hardware recently, and done a full security audit.
Here’s some of stats for the site:

SXC is a helpful, friendly community of photography addicts who generously offer their works to those who need them free of charge. If you have some nice photos that you’d like to share with others, it cost nothing to join today! It not only feels great to share, you will also get a huge exposure for your work, and you may just get some work if that is what you’re looking for.
I have been a member since 2005 and every time I need a graphic - this is where I head to first, I have also saved the RSS feed to my feed reader and see what new images are added daily.
So, if you need to find some useful photos/images for a project and you are on a budget or just need to find something fast, you could do it on Stock.XCHNG, my favorite image repository.
Whether SXC will become better from the merger with Getty Images is probably a given, because of the huge clout that Getty possess, I have mentioned some of the initial changes and they look as if they are starting to add more options soon, so as long as they don’t want to make people pay for access or something unheard of like that, I will commit to a resolute Yes!
